Our story in pictures
From maker to Lovemap Studio
I am Danny Goënga: maker, designer, and audiovisual teacher. Ever since my childhood, I've been looking for ways to make stories visible. My work is all about emotion, movement, and meaning: how do you give shape to something you cannot hold?
When I met the love of my life, the wish arose to capture that feeling. Not a photo or text, but an image that showed how our lives had become woven together.
That's how I made my first Lovemap: an abstract, personal artwork in which the shapes of Texel (my birthplace) and Brabant (hers) told a love story together, in lines, colors, and layers.
The First Family Lovemap
When our son was born, the Lovemap gained a new layer. What once started as a symbol of the two of us grew alongside the arrival of our family. The birth announcement wasn't a separate design, but an extension of our Lovemap: a tangible timeline of love, growth, and new life.
A new chapter
With the birth of our daughter, that story grew even richer. Every moment found its own place, every layer a new meaning. What began as a love story between two people became a living family portrait that grows with us, layer by layer, moment by moment.
A Lovemap for everyone
When I saw how everyone responded to the artworks and demand started to grow, Lovemap Studio was born: a place where love, creativity, and personal stories come together. Together with my girlfriend Sanne Engelen, an entrepreneur through and through, and Marieke Blankenstein, a marketing expert with a sharp eye for detail, I bring this idea to life.
We don't create standard designs, but unique artworks that tell who you are and who you love.
