Our story in pictures
From maker to Lovemap Studio
I am Danny Goënga: creator, designer and audio-visual lecturer. Ever since my childhood, I have been searching for ways to make stories visible. My work revolves around emotion, movement and meaning: how do you give shape to something you can't grasp?
When I met my love, the desire arose to capture that feeling. Not a photo or text, but an image that showed how our lives became intertwined.
That's how I made my first Lovemap: an abstract, personal artwork in which the shapes of Texel (my birthplace) and Brabant (hers) together told a love story. In lines, colours and layers.
The First Family Lovemap
When our son was born, the Lovemap gained a new layer. What once started as a symbol for the two of us grew with the arrival of our family. The birth announcement card was not a standalone design, but an extension of our Lovemap: a tangible timeline of love, growth, and new life.
A new chapter
With the birth of our daughter, that story became even richer. Every moment found its own place, every layer a new meaning. What began as a love story between two people became a living family portrait that grows with us, layer by layer, moment by moment.
A Lovemap for everyone
When I saw how everyone reacted to my work and the demand for it grew, Lovemap Studio was born: a place where love, creativity, and personal stories converge.
Together with my friend Sanne Engelen, an entrepreneur through and through, and Marieke Blankenstein, a marketing expert with a keen eye for detail, I am bringing this idea to life.
We don't create standard designs, but unique works of art that tell a story about who you are and who you love.
